Banglalink, one of Bangladesh’s leading digital operators, has appointed Kazi Mahboob Hassan as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), strengthening its leadership team as the company accelerates its digital services and seeks to enhance the customer experience across the country.

Hassan brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience spanning telecommunications, technology and finance.

He has a proven track record in driving transformative growth, leading digital innovation and executing customer-centric strategies in some of South Asia’s most competitive markets.

Most recently, he served as the founding Chief Executive Officer of R Ventures PLC, the digital ventures subsidiary of Robi Axiata Limited, where he led the creation of a high-performing digital ecosystem from the ground up.

In parallel, Hassan has also held the role of chief information officer (CIO) at Robi Axiata, overseeing significant advances in ICT, Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity and large-scale technology transformation.

Under his leadership, Robi’s digital infrastructure was strengthened to deliver near-zero downtime and resilient digital services.

His earlier career includes high-impact positions at Delhivery, Grameenphone, Deloitte UK and IBM UK, working across multiple markets and industries. Hassan has supported major global clients such as Deutsche Telekom and Unilever on large-scale transformation, digitalisation and growth-focused initiatives.

Hassan holds an MBA from the University of Oxford, is a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) with ACCA, UK, and is an alumnus of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka.

Commenting on his appointment, Kazi Mahboob Hassan said joining the country’s leading innovative digital operator offered “a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives”.

“I want to help build brands that truly understand people’s needs, listen to them, and, with empathy, provide simple and effective solutions,” he said.

“From the very beginning, Banglalink has placed customers at the heart of its journey. In this new role, my goal is to enhance every service experience so that each connection not only links people to one another, but genuinely enriches their lives,” he added.
