Deepal has launched its S05 plug-in hybrid in Bangladesh, unveiling the compact SUV at an event on 8 November at the Deepal Bangladesh showroom in Rangs Babylonia, Tejgaon, Dhaka.

The model is distributed locally by DHS Autos.

Positioned as a range-extended plug-in hybrid (PHEV), the S05 pairs a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol generator with an electric motor rated at up to 218 hp and 320 Nm.

The variant offered includes a 27.28 kWh battery; combined range is quoted at up to 1,234 km on China’s CLTC cycle, with around 200 km of pure-electric driving. Deepal is a brand of China’s Changan Automobile.

DHS Autos said that the vehicle is priced at BDT 52 lakh (excluding registration). The distributor will install a home charger at no cost for customers and operate a charging network across 22 locations nationwide, according to launch materials.

The S05’s cabin features a large central touchscreen and a suite of driver-assistance and safety technologies; local marketing highlights a “540°” camera view and other convenience tools.
