Google’s Gemini Passes 750 Million Monthly Users

Google’s AI chatbot, Gemini, has crossed 750 million monthly active users. The figure was disclosed in Alphabet’s fourth-quarter 2025 earnings report.

The milestone highlights how quickly Gemini has gained consumer adoption. Just one quarter earlier, the chatbot had 650 million monthly users.

Gemini has now moved ahead of Meta AI, which reports nearly 500 million monthly users. It still trails ChatGPT, however. OpenAI’s chatbot was estimated to have about 810 million monthly users in late 2025.

The latest growth follows the launch of Gemini 3. Google describes it as its most advanced AI model so far. The company says the new version delivers greater depth and nuance in responses.

Sundar Pichai, Google’s chief executive, said Gemini 3 has been a “positive driver” of growth. He added that continued investment and rapid iteration will be key to maintaining momentum.

Google has also expanded its pricing strategy. The company recently introduced Google AI Plus, priced at $7.99 per month. The plan targets more price-sensitive users. It was launched too late to affect the latest quarterly numbers.

“We are focused on a free tier and subscriptions and seeing great growth,” said Philipp Schindler, Google’s chief business officer, during the earnings call.

Gemini’s rise comes alongside strong financial results for Alphabet. The company reported more than $400 billion in annual revenue for the first time. Google linked that performance partly to rising demand for AI-powered products.

To support that growth, Google continues to invest in infrastructure. It recently unveiled Ironwood, its latest Tensor Processing Unit accelerator. The chip is designed to compete more directly with Nvidia’s AI hardware.

In its earnings release, Pichai pointed to the scale of Google’s AI operations. He said first-party models like Gemini now process more than 10 billion tokens per minute through direct API use. The Gemini app itself has grown to over 750 million monthly active users.

“Search saw more usage than ever before,” Pichai said. He added that AI is driving an expansion across Google’s core products.

As competition in generative AI intensifies, Gemini’s growth signals a shift. Google is no longer playing catch-up. It is now firmly positioned as a leading force in consumer AI.
