SpaceX Lands $30 Billion AI Infrastructure Agreement With Google
Google has signed a $30 billion agreement with SpaceX to secure additional computing capacity for its Gemini Enterprise AI service, according to documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Under the deal, Google will pay SpaceX about $920 million per month from October 2026 through June 2029 in exchange for access to computing resources from xAI data centers.
The agreement will provide Google with access to 110,000 NVIDIA GPUs, along with supporting CPUs and memory. SpaceX said Google may terminate the contract or negotiate reduced payments if the company fails to deliver the promised GPU capacity by September.
Despite operating its own global network of data centers, Google said the arrangement is intended as a short-term solution to meet rapidly growing demand for Gemini Enterprise, its AI platform for business customers.
SpaceX is also supplying computing resources to other AI companies. IPO documents show that AI startup Anthropic has agreed to pay $1.25 billion per month through May 2029 for access to xAI's Colossus 1 data center.
The deal underscores the growing competition among technology companies to secure AI infrastructure as demand for advanced computing power continues to rise.
