New Gameplay Trailer Reveals Anakin Skywalker
Star Wars Zero Company Launches August 27
Electronic Arts has announced that Star Wars Zero Company will launch on August 27 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The release date was revealed during Summer Game Fest 2026 alongside a new gameplay trailer that offered a closer look at the game's tactical combat and story. The footage also featured a brief appearance by Anakin Skywalker, who plays a role in the game's Clone Wars-era narrative.
Tactical Strategy Set During the Clone Wars
Star Wars Zero Company is being developed by Respawn Entertainment in collaboration with Bit Reactor and published by Electronic Arts.
Bit Reactor was founded by former Firaxis Games developers, including veteran designer Greg Foertsch, known for his work on the XCOM series. As a result, Zero Company adopts a turn-based tactical gameplay style that has drawn comparisons to games such as XCOM: Enemy Unknown and XCOM 2.
Building a Team to Stop a Dark Side Threat
The story takes place during the final years of the Clone Wars and follows former Republic officer Hawks. Players must recruit allies from across the galaxy to form an elite team tasked with hunting down Kundri Fathom, the leader of a dangerous Dark Side cult.
A central hub known as the Den serves as the player's base of operations, where squads can be assembled, customized, and dispatched on missions across different planets.
The game will feature a mix of original characters, species, and locations while remaining closely tied to established Star Wars lore.
Preorders Now Available
EA has opened preorders for Star Wars Zero Company, with the Standard Edition priced at $70.
A Deluxe Edition is also available and includes additional cosmetic content, weapon themes, and the Crystalline Astromech Cosmetic Pack featuring an R3-series droid.
With its blend of squad-based tactics, character customization, and Clone Wars storytelling, Star Wars Zero Company is shaping up to be one of the most notable strategy releases in the Star Wars franchise in recent years.
