Spark 40 5G: Tecno brings affordable 5G to Bangladesh

Bangladesh-based smartphone buyers now have a new low-cost 5G option with the launch of the Tecno Spark 40 5G, positioning it as one of the country’s most affordable fifth-generation handsets.

The device is listed in Bangladesh at Tk16,999, according to major retailers, and is already on sale nationwide.

Tecno says the Spark 40 5G targets budget users who still want flagship-style basics: a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 6,000mAh battery with 18W charging, and a 50MP primary camera with dual flash.

Under the hood, it runs MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 5G chipset, paired with 4GB/8GB RAM (with virtual expansion) and 128GB/256GB storage, plus IP64 dust-and-splash resistance, DTS audio and an IR blaster.

Software features include Tecno’s “Ask Ella” voice assistant and “FreeLink,” a short-range peer-to-peer tool that can enable calls and texts between compatible Tecno phones even without cellular coverage—pitched as a safety and convenience layer for poor-signal areas.

Tecno is promoting the Spark 40 5G as a nationwide 5G-ready entry point amid Bangladesh’s early 5G rollout, positioning the handset for students and first-time 5G users who prioritise battery life and smooth scrolling over premium cameras or higher-resolution screens.
