Teletalk rolls out smart-enabled feature phone

State-run operator Teletalk has launched a 4G Cloud VoLTE handset bundle, bringing smartphone-style apps and services to feature phones, with the aim to expanding affordable internet access.

Managing Director Nurul Mabud Chowdhury unveiled the bundle on Thursday (December 4) in Dhaka, with senior Teletalk officials in attendance. He said the offer continues Teletalk’s focus on budget-friendly connectivity for mass users.

Under the package, customers can buy a 4G Cloud feature handset with a SIM for Tk 2,499.

The device supports popular apps such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Teletalk said buyers will receive a seven-day 2G data pack free as a tagging offer.

Two promotional bundles accompany the launch. For Tk 49, users get 25 minutes + 10 SMS + 2 GB (valid 15 days). For Tk 89, they get 50 minutes + 20 SMS + 5 GB (valid 30 days).

Customers may activate these bundles as many times as they wish for six months via USSD.

Sales start at select customer care centres: in Dhaka at Gulshan-1, Azimpur, Mirpur-10, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Uttara Post Office and Shyamoli; in the north at Rangpur and Rajshahi; and in Chattogram at Dampara and in Cox’s Bazar.

Teletalk said further details are available on its website.
