Bangladesh to arrange nationwide AI training: Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb

The government plans to roll out artificial intelligence (AI) and digital skills training programmes across Bangladesh to build a technologically skilled workforce, according to Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, special assistant to the chief adviser of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.

Speaking as chief guest at the third National ICT Scout Jamboree on Saturday (September 20) at the National Scout Training Centre in Mouchak, Gazipur, Faiz Ahmad said the initiative aims to equip young people with knowledge and technical skills to transform them into a capable human resource pool.

He noted that the jamboree is not only strengthening the scout movement but also creating opportunities for youth to play a key role in the government’s “Smart Bangladesh” vision.

“The ICT Division will organise AI and ICT skills development training nationwide to build a workforce proficient in emerging technologies,” he said, urging scouts to focus on ethics, leadership, and a spirit of service.

Faiz Ahmad told participants that through knowledge-sharing, innovation, and leadership development, scouts could become ambassadors of a future Smart Bangladesh. He praised the integration of ICT with the scout movement as an innovative approach to shaping young people into skilled, dynamic, and globally competitive citizens.

The three-day jamboree, held from September 19 to 21, featured training sessions, workshops, and innovation exhibitions under the theme “Technology as a Tool for Service.”

During his visit, the special assistant also toured the Ministry of Science and Technology’s mobile museum bus.

The event was attended by Camp Chief Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdha, ad hoc committee member Abu Saleh Md. Mohiuddin Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Sohel Rana, senior scout officials, ICT experts, and hundreds of scouts and volunteers from across the country.
