How to View, Manage, and Delete Your Gemini Activity
As AI assistants become increasingly popular, concerns about the privacy of personal data are also growing. To improve its services, Google Gemini stores users' prompts, questions, and certain interactions. However, users can easily review, manage, and delete this data whenever they choose.
According to Google, if you are signed in to your Google Account and Gemini Apps Activity is turned on, your interactions with Gemini are saved to your account. You can review or delete this information at any time through My Activity.
How to View Your Gemini Activity
To access your Gemini activity:
-
Open the Gemini website on your computer.
-
Click Settings & Help.
-
Select Activity to view your saved interactions.
-
You can also use the available filters to search for specific conversations or activities.
How to Delete Your Activity
From the Activity page, you can delete your Gemini activity based on a selected time period. You can choose to delete:
-
All activity
-
Activity from a specific day
-
Activity within a custom date range
-
Individual conversations or interactions
If you delete a Gemini Live conversation, any associated audio, video, or screen-sharing data will also be deleted.
How to Turn Off Gemini Activity
You can also disable Gemini Apps Activity at any time. When this setting is turned off, new chats and interactions will no longer be saved to your account for long-term storage.
However, Google notes that some data may still be retained temporarily for up to 72 hours to help deliver the service, maintain security, and diagnose technical issues.
Technology experts recommend reviewing and managing your AI activity regularly to protect your privacy while continuing to benefit from AI-powered tools.
