BYD Bangladesh Completes First Phase of Youth Apprenticeship 2025

BYD Bangladesh has formally completed the first phase of its flagship initiative, Youth Apprenticeship Programme 2025, which it describes as the country’s first structured apprenticeship programme designed to develop future leadership for Bangladesh’s automotive sector.

The programme aims to establish a new benchmark in corporate-led learning by providing university students with direct exposure to New Energy Vehicle (NEV) architecture and BYD’s proprietary innovations.

In the first intake, BYD Bangladesh selected 10 promising students from five leading institutions: Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), and United International University (UIU).

Participants attended a multi-day programme combining theory aligned with global automotive standards with practical exposure to advanced technologies and the strategic automotive industry.

The curriculum, covering modern mobility topics including EV powertrains and hybrid systems, was led by BYD Bangladesh’s in-house trainer and product specialist, Md Rezwan Rahman, alongside product development executive Nakibul Islam.

The training placed special emphasis on BYD’s signature Blade Battery technology, while also including modules on supply chain operations, connectivity, and safety protocols to provide participants with a broad understanding of the sector.

The first phase concluded with a certificate-awarding ceremony, during which students received recognition for their technical skills and received career guidance. Certificates were presented by BYD Bangladesh’s Chief Marketing Officer Imtiaz Nawsher and Head of Supply Chain Hossain Mohammad Imtiaz.

BYD Bangladesh said that the initiative reflects its long-term commitment to national education and aims to bridge the gap between institutional learning and industry experience.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Nawsher said the successful completion of the first phase was “a moment of immense pride”, adding that the programme is designed to equip talented young people to lead Bangladesh’s “green revolution” by building world-class NEV skills and helping to shape a sustainable, future-oriented mobility ecosystem.

BYD Bangladesh said the initiative is being viewed as a key investment in the country’s growing automotive sector, reinforcing its focus on corporate social responsibility (CSR) and innovation, and added that it intends to expand its activities and continue the Youth Apprenticeship Programme to empower the next generation of Bangladeshi engineers and emerging talent.
