After months of anticipation, Elden Ring is finally set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2. Publisher Bandai Namco has confirmed that Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition will be released on August 28, 2026, bringing From Software’s acclaimed action RPG to Nintendo’s latest gaming platform.

The new edition includes the base game along with the major expansion, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, offering players a complete Elden Ring experience in a single package.

What’s Included in the Tarnished Edition?

According to the announcement, the Tarnished Edition will feature several additional gameplay elements beyond the base game and expansion.

Players will gain access to new character classes, weapons, armor sets, and customization options for their in-game mount. These extra features will not remain exclusive to the Switch 2 version, as they will also be available for purchase on existing platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

However, Bandai Namco has not yet revealed pricing details for the additional content on those platforms.

Pricing Yet to Be Confirmed

The company has also not officially announced the retail price of Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition for Switch 2.

An Amazon listing has suggested a price of around $80, although that figure has not been confirmed and may simply be a placeholder. The price would be in line with existing bundles that combine the original Elden Ring game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion on other platforms.

Until an official announcement is made, the final pricing remains uncertain.

A Major Addition to the Switch 2 Library

Originally released in 2022, Elden Ring became one of the most successful and critically acclaimed games of the decade, earning multiple Game of the Year awards and selling millions of copies worldwide.

Its arrival on the Switch 2 is expected to strengthen Nintendo’s growing lineup of third-party titles and give players access to one of the most influential modern RPGs on a portable platform.

More FromSoftware Games on the Way

Elden Ring is not the only FromSoftware title planned for Nintendo’s new console.

The developer is also working on The Duskbloods, a Switch 2-exclusive game that has drawn comparisons to the studio’s cult-favorite title Bloodborne. With Elden Ring finally making its way to Switch 2 and additional projects in development, Nintendo players can expect a stronger presence from FromSoftware on the platform in the years ahead.
