How to Track Flights in Real Time on Your Phone?
If you’ve ever waited at the airport wondering whether a flight has landed, there’s an app that can take the guesswork out — Flightradar24. It turns your smartphone into a live air traffic radar, letting you follow flights anywhere in the world.
How to Track Flights in Real Time on Your Phone?
Step 1: Download and Set Up
Start by downloading Flightradar24 from the App Store or Google Play. Create a free account to unlock features such as saving flights and receiving real-time alerts.
Step 2: Find Your Flight
The quickest way to locate a flight is by entering its flight number — for instance, EK585 or BA137 — in the search bar. Don’t know the number? There are several other ways to find it:
- By route: Type both cities (e.g., London to Dhaka) to see all flights on that route.
 - By airport: Search for an airport to view its full list of arrivals and departures, sortable by airline or aircraft type.
 - By airline: Enter an airline’s name to see all its current flights.
 - By aircraft registration: Every aircraft has a unique registration code such as S2-AHN or A6-EUA. Entering this lets you track that specific plane wherever it flies.

Once you’ve found your flight, tap the star icon to save it under My Flights.
Step 3: Read the Flight Data
Each flight page displays key information including the aircraft’s position on the map, altitude, speed, direction, departure and estimated arrival times, aircraft model, and even its age. The data is often more accurate than what’s available on airline websites.
Step 4: Turn On Alerts
Go to My Flights → Manage Alerts to enable notifications for departures, arrivals, or delays. Your phone will alert you automatically, so there’s no need to keep checking manually.
Step 5: Use It Smartly
Whether you’re picking someone up from the airport, keeping track of a connecting flight, or simply curious about the plane flying overhead, Flightradar24 makes it easy. Tap any aircraft on the map to see where it’s coming from and where it’s heading. The app even includes a 3D cockpit view — a fun extra, especially for kids.
