Google Home & Nest Speakers Get 7 New Updates

Google has rolled out seven updates for its Google Home and Nest smart speakers, bringing improvements to audio quality, Bluetooth playback, Wi-Fi 7 compatibility, and voice commands. The updates cover Google Home, Google Home Mini, Nest Audio, and other supported devices.

Key improvements include:

• Better audio tuning: Improved speaker-pair volume tuning reduces overly heavy bass and makes audio clearer at lower volume levels.
• Improved streaming: Enhanced audio streaming for a smoother listening experience.
• More reliable device discovery: Faster and more dependable detection of speakers on local networks through the Google Home app.
• Bluetooth playback fix: Addresses an issue where using the voice command "Resume" could unexpectedly stop Bluetooth audio.
• Speaker group fixes: Resolves problems with stereo pairs and speaker groups disappearing or failing to appear in the Google Home app.
• Wi-Fi 7 compatibility: Fixes connection and setup issues involving Wi-Fi 7 routers using WPA3 security.
• Google Meet voice controls: Fixes an issue that prevented users from ending calls with voice commands.

Google has not yet specified the firmware version for these updates, and its official update notes do not include every change.
