BIIN honours country’s top innovators

Bangladesh’s leading innovators were honoured on Saturday (October 18) as the Bangladesh ICT & Innovation Awards 2025, presented by NCC Bank PLC, celebrated nine champions across student, individual/team and institutional categories at the Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) campus in Dhaka. 

The ceremony—organised by the Bangladesh ICT & Innovation Network (BIIN)—recognised winners with crests, certificates and prize tokens under the theme “Recognition for Innovation, Inspiration for Transformation.”  

Chief guest Dr Anisuzzaman Chowdhury, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, presented the awards in the evening. 

Special guests included Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Chairman Major Gen (retd) Emdad Ul Bari; ICT Division secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury and BIIN Chairman Syed Almas Kabir. 

Nine initiatives were named champions. 

In the student category, honours went to RadSafe (Military Institute of Science and Technology—MIST), Britto.xyz (Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology—RUET), Care Wheelchair (Adamjee Cantonment College) and Safe Step (Rajuk Uttara Model College). The individual/team champion was Sebar Janala– ImpactFuse Coalition. 

In the institutional class, awards went to Fast Advanced of Bangladesh (MTBM) Board (for tunnel-boring initiatives), Synesis IT PLC (e-Return system), Riseup Labs (Complify) and RoboLife Technologies (RoboLife Bionic Arm). 

This year’s competition drew 255 submissions nationwide; 90 were initially shortlisted. After final evaluations at American International University–Bangladesh (AIUB) on October 9 and University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) on October 11, 32 entries were selected for awards across Champion, Winner and Merit tiers. 

Winner (student) awards included teams from BRAC University (Mongoltori), Dhaka Government Polytechnic Institute (DrainSense), AIUB (Hybrid Fraud Shield), Daffodil International University—DIU (Ajogor) and GNRF University of Management Sciences (Sohopathi AI). Winner (institution) awards went to SoftBD Ltd (DLRMS software), Innovex Idea Solution Ltd (MobiManager) and IXORA Solution Ltd (Nyayyamulya/Fair Price); Winner (individual/team) awards went to Project Pani and QRARG Eye Motion Tracker. 

Merit awards recognised, among others, University of Information Technology & Sciences (Dokaan), Dhaka University (GluSonic), JNRF University of Management Sciences (SolarShield, BlinkTalk), AIUB (Bartapraheri) and DIU (StyleOn); in institutions: JaduPC (GenOS Automotive OS), Synesis IT PLC (National Job Portal) and Innovex Idea Solution Ltd (PayProtect); and in individual/team: Ammau, Anchor Eye and E-VO. Speaking at the ceremony, organisers said the awards aim to recognise breakthrough ideas and encourage the nationwide adoption of homegrown solutions. 

The event follows BIIN’s broader agenda of youth skills, startup incubation and innovation-led transformation.
